This ring was made for Emily Mascall.
The design was a contribution of her and her partner Dave.
Emily wanted an unusual ring. Dave had initially proposed with a simple and unique ring from Georg Jensen.
The concept was a Mobeus form, one of the most famous surfaces in mathematics. It is a non-orientable form. Meaning that there is no front or back. One can create a mobeus form by taking a strip of paper. This piece of paper has two sides, agreed, half twist it and join two ends and you will find that there is now one continuous side.
When you relate this concept to that of marriage, you can easily see how a union of unconditional love is likened to the mobeus concept.
There is no right or wrong, but acceptance. There are no sides, only flow.
