Merelani Mint Garnet comes from the Grossular Garnet family and was discovered in Tanzania at a mine in Merelani near to Mt Kilimanjaro and the Kenyan border.
Its very rare to find Grossular garnet over a certain size and its colour is very similar to the famous Tsavorite Garnet, but a far lighter shade of green with an undertone of blue.
Found in the exact same location as Tanzanite, Merelani Garnet is equally as beautiful with gorgeous lustre and incredible brilliance, though far more rare than Tanzanite. The gem is also known as Mint Garnet or Mint Grossular Garnet.
This is such an exceptional stone. It would look mesmerising set with diamonds and rose gold as a feature pendant or cocktail ring. The pendant design is slightly less in price due to the different diamond configuration I have designed. The cocktail ring design features larger shoulder diamonds on either side of the Mint Garnet.
