Jewellery design is our Passion

Kate McCoy Jewellery is one of Sydney's best kept secrets.

Hello! Welcome to my website. A little bit about me!

I've been designing, sourcing, and making jewellery for 15 years and I’m still passionate and in love with every creation. It’s such a pleasure to create special pieces. I love working with each individual to divine what they want. Everyone has a unique style.

If this is the first time you are considering making a piece of fine jewellery, you are in for a treat! Whilst the end product is amazing, the experience and the customer service are what make the end product such a memorable and meaningful thing. In this case the destination and the journey are on par!

In our initial consultation we will work out what your budget is, what the occasion is, who the piece is for - you or a loved one. I want to understand how best I can serve you and what is important to you. Designed with you. Made For you!

Once we have an idea, we can start looking at materials. I’ll bring you into my world of precious gems and diamonds and help you learn everything you need to know to make the best choice for you. It’s fun and informative and I think the only issue you may have is falling in love with all the beautiful gems and options!

We then go through the design process which you can check out on the design process page.

My design studio and workshop are tucked away in a discreet location in the Sydney CBD. Because we give 100% focus to each piece, when we are tinkering away on a deadline it’s important we are not interrupted, for this reason we are strictly by appointment only.

It’s easy to book an appointment, click the link to our calendar and take your pick of time slots. We'll even send you a reminder of your appointment!

ABOUT KATE

I studied Jewellery Design at COFA (College of Fine Arts) at the University of New South Wales. Continuing my studies in Mumbai, India, don’t mind if I brag, I topped both classes in Gemmology (GII) and Diamond Grading at the International Gemological Institute - IGI (established in Antwerp).

I love nature, architecture and travel. My limited edition collections are inspired by my intrepid trips and passions; perfumery, sailing, diving, polo and prospecting.

I also love flowers, and have styled all of the imagery on my website.

Workshop Kate McCoy

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

The workshop is based in Sydney CBD. My master jewellers have over 30 years experience in forging, crafting and setting fine jewellery. All precious metals and diamonds are ethically sourced and I take great pride in being a premium product Australian made. I love to update my customers with behind the scenes videos and images. Sharing the process with you from start to finish is not only transparent, its exciting! Quality, trust, value and integrity are our corner stones. All workmanship is lifetime guaranteed, should any manufacturing fault occur bring it in and it will be repaired or replaced free of charge! Like any retail jewellery this does not include a change of mind or cover wear and tear. My raison d’etre is to celebrate love. Making a piece of fine jewellery that symbolises such a significant and valued commitment, for us, is a total privilege. Every ring that is made, no matter the price point, is as important to me as it is to you. My aim is to make the process enjoyable, to ensure you are looked after, feel valued and walk away with a beautiful ring!

ABOUT MY SUPPLIERS

Over the years I have established good relationships with diamond and coloured gem dealers worldwide, allowing me to source unique stones that are exceptional in clarity, colour, cut and price for my customers and follow the supply chain from mine to market.

I am dedicated to sourcing ethical diamonds and gemstones where the supply chain is transparent and controlled. For example, one way this is done in the diamond industry is through the Kimberly Process. The Kimberly Process is a certification process for diamond rough, whereby each mine must certify that the goods are not ‘rough diamonds used to finance wars against governments’ - around the world. If you’d like to read more about the Kimberly Certificate you can do so here.

KYC forms are now commonplace in the industry which requires signed declarations for anti-money laundering protocols and anti-terrorist funding programs, background checks and multiple reliable industry referrals, company transparency in order to do business.

My relationship with my suppliers is integral to my business and my integrity. I am always happy to answer any questions around industry practices and stone origins where possible in an open and transparent way. If I don’t have an answer straight away, I will seek one out!!

I am here to serve you with my expertise, unique creativity, and integrity. If you resonate with these values and are looking for a special piece of jewellery, let’s start a conversation!
